::Let's Take a Look Inside::

Personality:
-Adventurous-
Annika loves to explore new places, more often than not with close friends. No matter the obstacle, she will try her best to get where she wants. This often leads to trouble however, and can lead her into a huge mess.

-Loyal-
Through minor quarrels and disagreements, Anni will prove to be the most loyal in the end. She will fight for her tribe even when it is risking her own life. She will stick by your side in the hardest of times and reassure you when you're down.

-Sentimental-
Whether it is a feather she found while hunting or a necklace her friend made, she will refuse to let it go. She is closely connected to her memories, and will use objects to represent that. A simple autumn leaf may mean the world to her if it is relevant to a specific memory. She will linger longer than anyone else on a death or fatal injury of a loved one, even when it is long forgotten by others.

-Sharp-Tongued-
Sometimes, Annika will get very angry or annoyed over certain things. When in a bad mood, she isn't afraid to make a rude remark or try to prove one of her tribemates wrong.

::Storybook::
"Anni! Anni!" another young bobcat nudged the spotted feline from her slumber.
"What, Karsi?" Annika groaned, her paws covering her tired eyes as she stifled a yawn.
"Azuri and Fiurin promised they'd take us hunting today! C'mon, before we have to clean the ticks off of the seniors!"
The sleepy young cat got to her feet, the soporific wave still engulfing her. "But we haven't even eaten!" Annika protested. Though she wanted desperately to go, she was still tired from the day before's festivities.
"We can get something when we're there. The warriors are ready for us!" Karsi exclaimed,amber eyes shining as she bouncing over to the blooming gorse entrance leading out of camp and into the forest. Anni stumbled along behind her friend a few paw-steps away. With every step, she became more energetic and anxious to hunt. Finally, the four were at the oaks, where a surplus amount of prey could be found year-round.
Anni's sharp eyes caught a squirrel nibbling on a hazelnut in a nearby tree. "Shh!" she hissed, swiftly climbing the oak. As she got to the top, she swiped, missing by an inch. She chased the squirrel until it hopped to another tree. Still aiming to get it, she decided to leap to the other tree in hopes of catching it. She could almost feel the warm meat in her mouth. Leaping confidently, she knew her fate was sealed.
Her heart skipped a beat as gravity pulled her to the base of the tree. Annika's paws twisted painfully as her body landed on the ground, making a loud thump on the forest floor. "My paws!" she yowled as she tried to get up from the pool of blood she had been lying in.
Fiurin ran over to her blood-stained coat, followed by Azuri and Karsi. "Quick! We need to get her to the healer, now!"

And everything went black.

"Niera, will she be all right? Do I need to get to get her more feather bedding?" Fiurin asked worriedly.

"It's all my fault!" Karsi sobbed. "She'll never forgive me!"
"No, it was just an accident. It was nobody's fault," the healer whispered reassuringly, licking Annika's limp body. Niera then turned to Azuri, "Her front paws are twisted, so it'll be a few moons. She may not be able to walk again, but only time will tell."

Six months later . . .

Annika watched mournfully from her feather bed in Niera's den as Karsi and a few others were made warriors. That would have been me... she thought sorrowfully. Her bandaged paws had shown few signs of improvement, so she had not been able to move since her fall. Niera felt the wave of sadness overcome the young bobcat. "I know it hurts, physically and emotionally." Annika was started by her presence, but managed to just sigh. "That's how I came to be a healer, you see-"
"I don't want to be a worthless healer! I want to be a warrior just like the rest of my family!" Anni screeched at the older bobcat.
"I understand, but it was destiny for me. Maybe not for you, but mine was a different story. My left hind leg was maimed, you see. It is hard to notice, but an old wound always shows through somehow. I could barely maneuver for two years. I had learned so much in the healer's den, so I made the decision to become her apprentice. Shortly after, though, she died when attacked by a rogue cat while collecting herbs. I became the new healer, and I haven't fought since my accident. Everything happens for a reason, dear. Stick to your dreams so you can make them happen."

--

"Our ancestors look down upon this brave bobcat and have approved of her for a new rank. Through many long months of therapy with Niera, Annika has shown courage and persistence that will trademark her throughout her life. Annika, daughter of the late Hiranwa and Raizuli, you are now a warrior of our tribe. May the spirits light your path."
The cheers of her tribemates made Anni sit a bit taller from her position next to the king of their tribe. She shifted her paws uncomfortably as she managed to grinShe was finally a warrior at the age of three years compared to the two years of training done by the other bobcats. She padded over to Fiurin, purring.  "Congratulations," he murmured in her ear, his tail wrapping around the both of them.  Her unfortunate fall made her realize an important life lesson: perseverance is priceless.

Epilogue

Fiurin licked Annika's cheek lovingly as he gazed down at two sightless cubs suckling. "I'm so proud of them," he sighed happily, reaching down to look at his new son and daughter. Anni smiled softly, her light green gaze seemly glowing in the dark night. The aroma of milk wafted through the dusk air, and for once, she felt as if she had a purpose.  Niera was right all along, she did find her niche, her place in her tribe.
